Cleaning, Care and Maintenance Advice

  • Cleaning can be performed at any desired interval using soapy water and soft clothes.
  • To remove more complex bug marks and smears, use soapy water and a soft cloth in circular motion, then dry the glass. Methylated Spirits maybe used to dry and polish clean.

Minus Nine will tolerate the use of a pressure cleaner and a car wash situation, however may contribute premature deterioration of the coating.

Once your glass is clean and detergents are removed, the beading effect will be visible. If the beading is not entirely visible, don’t worry, Minus Nine is still sitting in the pores of the glass, repelling dirt, grime and water. Refer to re-application if desired.

Checking the Coating.

Minus Nine is a semi-permanent Coating that protects the glass. Over time windscreen wipers along with other factors including the effect of air particles blasting the glass at speed will deteriorate the coating.

The coating can be checked by cleaning the glass then spraying with water. Coating over previously treated areas is merely renewing an old coating and will not have an effect on the surface. Simply follow the Cleaning & Application Method on desired areas.

Tip: The beading effect will only be present when the glass is clean. If water doesn’t bead off you may choose to reapply.

It is suggested that Minus Nine be re-applied at 12 month or 20,000km intervals to ensure ongoing protection.  Minus Nine can be re-applied anytime, so if winter is approaching or your planning a trip then simply follow the Cleaning & Application Method.all
